Viridium AI and Tata Elxsi bring Material Intelligence to Med-Tech with ViTel

In May 2026, Tata Elxsi launched ViTel, a Material Intelligence solution for medical device manufacturers, at DeviceTalks Boston. The solution is co-developed by Viridium AI and Tata Elxsi. It uses the Viridium AI platform alongside Tata Elxsi’s three decades of Med-Tech regulatory and engineering knowledge.

Cracking the materials intelligence code for Med-Tech

Material decisions now shape margin, resilience, product velocity and market access for medical device manufacturers. Yet the knowledge behind those decisions is often scattered. It sits in BOMs, supplier documents, ERP and PLM systems, and the heads of expert teams. Every new regulation or customer requirement then becomes a costly manual exercise, started again from scratch.

What ViTel does

ViTel creates a reusable Material Intelligence layer across the enterprise. The Viridium AI platform provides the foundation: Knowledge Cloud, Chemical Digital Twin and science-constrained AI models. Together they turn fragmented enterprise data into a living knowledge graph that connects products, parts, materials, chemicals, suppliers, regulations and evidence.

With that foundation, sourcing, engineering, quality and regulatory teams can:

  • identify material and supplier dependencies
  • evaluate alternatives
  • see where a product or material risk affects cost, continuity or market access

Tata Elxsi’s Med-Tech expertise shapes how ViTel reasons about material risk, compliance and sourcing decisions, not only how it is deployed.

A co-innovation partnership

ViTel was co-developed through STEP UP, Tata Elxsi’s co-innovation program for high-potential deep-tech companies. Tata Elxsi brings design-led, AI-first engineering and access to global healthcare and Med-Tech enterprises. Viridium AI brings the platform and technology innovation.

“Viridium AI was built to help manufacturers understand the material DNA of their products. In Med-Tech, that intelligence creates a strategic foundation for the manufacturer. Once product and material knowledge are digitized, it becomes a reusable enterprise asset for margin, sourcing, engineering, quality, and regulatory decisions. Partnering with Tata Elxsi through ViTel brings that capability directly into the hands of the teams who need it most.”
